Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (OEP) started January 1st and runs until March 31st. This period applies to any Medicare Beneficiary currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. Whether you recently joined a Medicare Advantage plan last fall, or have been on a Medicare Advantage plan for years, you now have until March 31st to make a one-time change to a different Medicare Advantage plan (to a different health insurance company or simply to another plan within the current company you have). This time period also allows anyone dissatisfied with their Medicare Advantage plan to disenroll from their current plan and return to Original Medicare (meaning using Medicare Part A and Part B) and to purchase a prescription drug plan (in order to avoid any prescription drug coverage late enrollment penalties).
Medicaid + Medicare (Medi-Medi) Enrollment Periods-
If you have Medicare and also are enrolled in your state’s Medicaid program (known locally as Medi-Cal), you may be entitled to more chances throughout the year to make changes to your coverage. These Medicaid specific chances will be in addition to the enrollment periods you qualify for under Medicare.
Caduceus at the Packing House in Yorba Linda will be having an on-site Medicare expert to assist you with any questions during the open enrollment period.
