Nathaniel DeNicola MD CMO

Nathaniel DeNicola, MD, MSHP, FACOG is a board-certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist (Ob-gyn) with Caduceus Medical Group and Chief Medical Officer.  He sees patients at Caduceus for Women in Yorba Linda and Irvine.  He grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County rooting for the Dodgers and Lakers, and during travel always makes In-N-Out his first stop when returning to California.

Dr. DeNicola attended high school at Santa Margarita, when he also held his first jobs with Caduceus as courier and file manager.  After completing medical school at the University of California, Irvine he joined his father, Caduceus CMO Gregg DeNicola MD, to work as Caduceus Assistant Medical Director prior to residency.

Dr. DeNicola completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University and still returns to New Orleans annually to present lectures and enjoy charbroiled oysters.  After residency he earned a Masters of Science in Health Policy Research (MSHP) with the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also held appointments as Senior Fellow at Leonard Davis Institute on Health Economics, the Penn Social Media and Health Innovation Lab, and the Brookings Institute Engelberg Center on Health Care Reform.

For the past five years, he has worked on health policy in Washington, DC where he holds a joint appointment with Johns Hopkins Medicine.  Dr. DeNicola is a national leader on emerging telehealth policy and serves the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as the Chair of Telehealth.  He also has international leadership in environmental health policy and holds liaison roles with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and the World Health Organization.

As the newest member of Caduceus for Women, Dr. Nathaniel DeNicola looks forward to bringing his experiences back home to serve the next generation of southern Californians.
