Catherine Thielen PsyD, PSY 30762

Dr. Catherine Thielen is a licensed clinical psychologist with broad range of experience helping individuals and couples work through life’s challenges and mental health and wellness impacted by anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions including substance and alcohol abuse, relationship challenges within families, as well as, personal and professional challenges.  She has over two decades of experience working as a clinician, program director, and trauma services coordinator in residential and outpatient settings.

Her practice involves working with individuals, couples, and families.  She specializes in working with individuals who struggle with emotional and mental health issues, including significant life events resulting in deep sense of grief and loss, family conflicts, and personal or work phase of life transitions or issues.

Dr. Thielen believes in individualized care and tailors her treatment to needs of the client including utilizing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and meditation practices, somatic experiencing, music/art therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.

Therapy can be short-term, focusing on specific issues, or long-term, addressing more complex issues and ongoing personal growth.

When not working, Dr. Thielen enjoys hiking, the beach, mediation/spiritual workshops and spending time with family.

She sees patients in Yorba Linda and Irvine.
